Andrea Canta - ist eine international etablierte Sängerin und Komponistin mit deutschen Wurzeln. Sie studierte Musik in London, Kuba und Brasilien, immer mit der Absicht, die lokalen Besonderheiten der Musik zu durchdringen und diese mit den eigenen Wurzeln zu verweben. Daraus entstand eine Zusammenarbeit mit Musikern, Komponisten und Musikproduzenten aus den Bereichen Jazz, Latin, Reggae, EDM und Popmusik.
Besonders stark beeinflußt hat sie die Zeit in Kuba und Brasilien. Fasziniert von der Kultur, der Sprache, der Musikalität und Herzlichkeit der Menschen, entstanden interkulturelle Projekte. In Havanna nahm sie eine EP mit Musikern des bekannten Orchester "NG La Banda" auf. Und in Brasilien entstand das dritte Album der Musikerin, die CD „JANDAIA". Die Musik dieses Albums, besteht hauptsächlich aus brasilianischen Rhythmen wie Samba, Bossa Nova, Baião, Xote und Tambor de Crioula, mit Einflüssen aus Jazz & Pop.
Durch ihre prägnante Stimme und die enorme Bandbreite ihres musikalischen Repertoires, bestehend aus eigenen Kompositionen, Jazz, Funk, Soul, Pop, brasilianischen und kubanischen Liedern, trat sie schon bei zahlreichen Festivals, Konzerten und Events in verschiedenen Ländern auf. „Sprache ist Musik“ sagt Andrea. Authentisch und mit Leidenschaft für Sprachen, performt sie auf deutsch, englisch, portugiesisch und spanisch.
Andrea Canta - is an internationally established singer & songwriter born in Germany. She has studied music in Great Britain, Cuba and Brazil, where she worked with musicians, composers and music producers in the fields of Jazz, Latin, Reggae and Pop music. In Europe she has worked with EDM producers with which she has had worldwide chart success („Beachball“ with Nalin & Kane/„Free“ with Marc & Claude/ "Adelina" The Greenman). She performed and recorded backing vocals with artists like Lee Scratch Perry (Jamaica), Nana Tuffour and Reggie Rockstone (Ghana), Marla Glen (USA), Roger Cicero, Ischen Impossible (Germany), Nosly Marinho, Erasmo Dibell (Brazil).
Andrea was heavily influenced by her time spent in Cuba and Brazil where she fell in love with the culture, language and warmth of the people. She has visited Cuba on many occasions where she took the opportunity to collaborate with musicians of the famous Cuban orchestra "NG La Banda" and recorded an EP in Havana. On her album „Jandaia“ which was released in 2019, the compositions are predominantly Brazilian rhythms, such as Samba, Bossa Nova, Baião, Xote and Tambor de Crioula, infused with Jazz & Pop.
Through numerous live performances she increased her appreciation for the unique latin rhythms and harmonies, which influenced and enriched her singing and songwriting style. Her distinctive voice and broad musical repertoire makes her a prominent performer on TV, radio shows, events, concerts and festivals in Europe and Brazil. Andrea performs in German, English, Portuguese and Spanish with equal confidence and passion.

Nascida em Alemanha, Andrea Canta estudou música na Grã-Bretanha, Cuba e Brasil, onde fez parcerias com músicos e compositores nos estilos jazz, música latina, reggae, dance e pop. Morou em Londres no período de 1987 a 1991 e no Brasil, especificamente na capital maranhense São Lúis, de 2011 a 2014, para onde retornou em 2016, 2018 e 2019 para o lançamento do seu terceiro disco "JANDAIA"
As músicas do CD "JANDAIA" são uma mostra de ritmos tradicionais do nordeste brasileiro - baião, xote e tambor de crioula - dialogando com o jazz, blues, soul e world music. “E não pude resistir ao samba e à bossa nova. Para cada música escolhi o idioma que me inspirou naquele momento. Os parceiros se tornaram amigos e em muitos dias nos sentamos juntos, compondo e cantando. Eu estava na companhia de músicos talentosíssimos e compositores criativos que me inspirarão para sempre”, afirma Andrea Canta.
Para performances ao vivo, ela misturara composições autorais e canções conhecidas com um vasto repertório de jazz, funk, soul e pop music, além de músicas consagradas do cancioneiro popular brasileiro e cubano. Andrea canta em quatro idiomas: alemão, inglês, português e espanhol.
